June 2010 Prayer Request

Please PRAY for two girls, aged 11 and 14 whom we think have been sold as "servants" or sex slaves to an evil man in Mozambique.

Please also pray for children whose relatives worship other gods or demons and who then treat their children very badly, speaking curses over them.

The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up [His] zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies. Is 42:13

EVERYBODY is interested in the World Cup soccer so pray for us as we teach children to play soccer next week. We are showing the World Cup games on a big screen and then we speak about Jesus. Please pray that many would come to know Him.

January 2008 Prayer Requests

We are having a camp with some young Hindu and Moselm students who are also Mozambican. Please pray that we can have confidence to share the love of Jesus with them.  Please pray that the Lord will give us perfect times to speak and to show His love.

Praise God we now have a home for our orphans, called Casa Esperanca - it means HOPE House! 

It is summer holidays now and the orphans we look after are home for the holidays with their grannies and aunties. 
Please pray that each one will be kept safe and well fed and receive love from these members of their family who cannot look after them.

Please pray with us that many more children who are being neglected or abused in the places they live will be allowed to come and live with us at Hope House, so that they can go to school and learn about the love of Jesus with us.

New Orphans - Autumn 06

Please pray for many new orphans who are coming to our schools; many of them come from pagan upbringings - that means their families believed in false gods. These children now get to learn about the love of Jesus and His wonderful plan for their lives.  Pray for the love of God to touch their hearts with power.

Please also pray for House of Hope and Christian school we want to build. Pray for the 22 orphan children who will come to this school and be taken care of by 2 widow ladies, who have lost their husbands. 

" Lord Jesus please let their love abound (grow and go out to the children) still more and more"

Update from Bethel

Praise Report

Thank You Jesus that at last month's Bethel camp, 8 orphan children asked Jesus into their hearts.Some of their names are:Chalton, Alex, Francisco, Celia, Virgilio and Armando. Check out this link to see what God feels about those who are orphans or fatherless.

Please Pray

For 8 yr old Moises, who has been diagnosed with epilepsy and is often unable to come to school.

 Cristeza aged 11...  is seriously emotionally and spiritually disturbed, probably thru the evil actions and sin of the person she lives with.  There has been a big change for the worse in this once happy and pretty little girl.

Pray for Azore (5) and Antonio (8) - they often sleep in the bush and steal food from their neighbors because they are hungry. Please also pray for their school which has 64 other children too.

Maezinha (4) Fina  and Lina, all sisters,  are very vulnerable (this means unsafe or unguarded). The girls are often unfed as they live with an old alcoholic grandmother. 

Quito, Nomsa, Savito and Sizorio. Their mum is still alive but dangerously ill.  Teacher Teresa and other church women are feeding and taking care of her and the children.

Pray for Ismael Jose Cossa from Ch  - school who got burnt in a cooking fire. 

Please pray for Anisete (11 year old boy) and 8 year-old Celia.  Celia invited Jesus into her heart on the camp and we noticed a big change in Anisete, too, over the 5 days of the camp.  But please keep praying because Anicete and another orphan, Pedro, have dont have a good safe dry warm place to live and they need blankets at night.

Please pray for M... school, which needs a new chalk board and Math and Portuguese books for the older children.

Please pray for 600 wash cloths and 600 outfits for the school children, for towels, soap and shampoo so that the children can have regular baths.


A Home Called Bethel - July 2006

The Bethel Project
Mark and Les and their 2 sons Charles 15 and Michael 13 have a dream called Bethel.  The word "Bethel" is from Hebrew and it means "House of God". 

The Harper family want to fix up a large home in Xhi Xhi (pronounced Shai Shai) for Mozambican orphans, many of whom have a serious disease called AIDS.  They want this home to be a safe place where the children can learn of and experience the love of Jesus and where they can go to school.

Please pray for all that is needed to buy the home and fill it with furniture, loving teachers and parents, Bibles and school supplies for the children.


Answered Prayer from Mozambique - June 06 - Lesley says "thank-you" for praying...

Thank you for praying for the children!  Many children from the communities came; ones who don't go to the church schools.  Lots of the children were happy to say "yes" to the news that Jesus came to save them.

"We taught the children all about Jesus from the "Wordless Book of Beads"  It is a special book that has colored pages with no pictures.  Each color means a different thing, like this:

BLACK -  Sin Romans 3:23 - All have sinned
RED - Blood I John 1:7 - Jesus' blood covers all sin
WHITE - Pure Psalm 51:7  - Jesus washes away confessed sin
YELLOW - Heaven John 14:2 - Believe on Jesus and receive eternal life
GREEN - Grow 2 Peter 3:18 - Grow in the knowledge of the Lord

Prayer Request from Mark & Lesley - May 2006

Please pray for the orphan children we are looking after in Southern Mozambique - some of them have a very nasty flu and eye infection, and 4 of them have a sickness called malaria. 

"Dear Lord; please stretch out your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the Name of Your Holy Servant Jesus"  This is a prayer that the apostles prayed and you can find it in the book of Acts 4:29-30.  Read verse 31 to find what happened after the early apostles prayed.  Do you believe that the same thing can happen in Mozambique if we pray?

Mark & Lesley and their two boys plan to have a special meal and celebration on the first of June, which is Mozambique's National Children's Day. Please pray that many children who come to the celebration would decide to become followers of Jesus Christ.

May 1st 2006 - A Russian Child Sends this Prayer Request: -

Please ask the kids to pray for many Mozambican children under the age of 8 who have no parents because their parents have died of AIDS. These children need so much - clothes and food and people to love them and most important they need to know Jesus.
