Encouraging Praying Children Around the World
Spring Summer 2008
CAMBODIAN CHILDREN BLESS THEIR NATION THROUGH PRAYER!!
Our God is amazing!! Look at Psalm 2:8
The Lord has said to Me, "You are My Son, today I have begotten you. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for your inheritance"
Father God is speaking to His Son Jesus. He says, Ask me for the nations and I will give them to you. Asking means prayer. When we pray we partner with God's heart. Prayer is not to get our will done but God's. Here is the wonderful and true story.
Some school children living together in an orphanage decided to pray one morning for Cambodia. It was the dry season, and there was no rain. The reservoirs which usually hold water for the people to drink were just about dry.
The children had a very busy day taking care of the garden that grew vegetables for them so they asked the Lord "Let there be rain for our country but let it not come until 5pm today".
When one of the leaders called L- who was away from the orphanage for the whole day, saw a cloudy sky, he phoned the orphanage, to say "maybe there will be rain today".
"Yes" said the other teacher when he answered the phone. "There will be rain but not till 5pm."
L was surprised, "Why do you say 5pm? How can you know that it will rain exactly at 5pm?"
"Because the children asked the Lord to make the rain start at 5pm so we could get all the gardening done before then" was the reply.
Well as L was riding home on the motorcycle, at 4.59 pm there was the first drop of rain. It rained in the dry season every day for 2 weeks!
The reservoirs were filled up again and the country was blessed.
Cambodia belongs to Jesus. And these children in Cambodia through prayer are joining with the Lord to call down much needed rain upon their country. Jesus is the real ruler of Cambodia. And these children are joining with Him as He governs.
1. They pray.
2. The Lord hears.
3. Their prayer is according to His will.
4. He answers and sends rain.
But just so you & I know & believe the Lord heard the prayer of the children and cares about their garden, the rain didn't come until 5pm, just as the children asked!
