"Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 18:10
Many families are on the edge of survival; they cannot afford food or schooling for their children. So every member, no matter how young, has to work. And although child labor is illegal, Bolivian mines employ thousands
of children who need to work to ensure their families' as well as their
own survival.
Children work to help support the family. If they do not work, families here won't make it... "What am I going to do with my children if they don't work?" says one sad father. There's no
way out of the mine; that is why we all work, the whole family works." Many of these child and teenage miners work at night, between eight and 12 hours a day.
Let's pray this Psalm as a prayer for the child miners of Bolivia. "Lord You are their Shepherd, please come to each child as a loving Shepherd comes to take care of his sheep". Continue to pray each verse that it may become truth in each child's life.
The Lord is my Shepherd
I shall not want
He makes me to lie down in green pastures
He leads me beside the still waters
He restores my soul
He leads me in paths of righteousness
For His name's sake
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil for You are with me
Your rod and Your staff they comfort me
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies
You anoint my head with oil my cup overflows
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
